Anticipation of educational needs aims to provide information on quantitative needs for upper secondary vocational and higher professional education and training, which are based on long-term employment forecasts. This report deals with developments in demand for labour and attrition (natural wastage) over the period from 2001 to 2015 and, based on these developments, provides forecasts of quantitative educational needs in the latter half of the current decade. Forecasts have been prepared for three levels of education, namely, upper secondary vocational education and training, polytechnic education and university education. Educational needs have been expressed in terms of intake needs within vocationally/professionally oriented education and training intended for young people, provided by subfield and level of education.
